Dr. Daydown is an emerging rock band from the Basel region of Switzerland, formed during the unusual and challenging times of the Corona pandemic. Founded by three longtime friends and experienced musicians—singer and bassist Udo Mayer, guitarist Philipp Moser, and drummer Christian Waldner—the band came together when the world was in lockdown. With their former bands on hold, the trio used this period to explore new musical avenues and solidify their sound, blending their individual strengths into a cohesive new project.

During the pandemic, Dr. Daydown found their creative identity and, as restrictions eased, they entered the studio to record their debut album, Painting A Picture. The album’s powerful sound, captivating melodies, and introspective lyrics quickly resonated with listeners, helping the band build a dedicated fan base and establish themselves in the Swiss rock scene.

Fueled by the momentum of their debut, Dr. Daydown continued to create, writing ten new tracks in a remarkably short time. Their second album, Sad Songs For Julie, was recorded in a professional studio, marking a significant step forward for the band. Collaborating with other musicians during the process, Dr. Daydown expanded their sonic palette, adding new depth and layers to their music.

Dr. Daydown’s journey from lockdown isolation to crafting two full-length albums is a testament to their resilience, creativity, and passion for music. With their unique sound and growing following, they are poised to make an even bigger impact on the rock scene.
